A: To figure out how many messages per month DiabeText will send to the patient’s and caregiver’s phone follow this formula:

Number of alerts to patient per day x 2 (if one caregiver is receiving reported values forwarded) x 30 days = Total Monthly Messages

If patient is receiving 6 alerts per day then the calculation is: 6 x 2 x 30 = 360 text messages per month of which 180 will be alerts to the patient and 180 will be messages to caregiver containing the values reported by patient. If patient and caregiver have an unlimited text plan then they are ok. If patient has a 1000 text messages per month plan and caregiver has a 400 messages per month plan, at the patient will have for non DiabeText uses 1,000 - 180 = 820 messages and the caregiver 400 - 180 = 220 messages left.
